These compact, low-dissipation factor capacitors are often connected to the auxiliary winding of single-phase (AC) induction motors so as to improve power factor and running torque.

Configured in an explosion-proof, oil-filled can (or alternatively, a cost-effective plastic case), these products are designed to endure several years of maintenance-free operation.
